1. The 8598B may be mounted in any orientation without aff ect-
ing accuracy. However, each 8598B comes with its fl ow indica-
tor in a pre-determined location. For ease of reading fl ow, North
American recommends selecting a meter based on your expect-
ed mounting orientation. See “Ordering Information” on page 3.
MOUNTING
3. The medium must not contain any solids or contaminants
prone to precipitate out of solution and deposition on the instru-
ments inner walls. This would prevent proper operation of the
device. Unclean media should be fi ltered upstream of the 8598B.
North American off ers a series 8555B basket strainer for such
purposes. North American recommends a 20 mesh strainer for
40 SSU oil (See 8555B strainer bulletin).
